Do you remember that painting from ‘Welcome’, the one with a donkey standing on a horse, painted with total seriousness by Majnu Bhai? Bollywood actor Vijay Varma, known for ‘Gully Boy’, ‘Mirzapur’, and ‘Darlings’, has brought a replica of this hilarious artwork straight into his home, and fans are loving it.
Vijay shared pictures of the painting on Instagram with a playful caption: “Yes I’m an Art Connoisseur. Sharing my moment with the most iconic painting from Bollywood… no painting has ever brought this much joy to us @aneesbazmee sir @anilskapoor sir respect. Majnu Bhai supremacy.”

Vijay Varma shows off his hilarious ‘Welcome’ painting:
The original painting appears in the film during an auction scene. The humor comes from the contrast: a feared gangster acting like a sensitive artist, yet producing an absurd, nonsensical painting.
Over the years, the artwork has become a meme and a symbol in India for “abstract art no one understands.”
Behind the scenes, director Anees Bazmee earlier revealed that he actually painted it himself. The production team had brought in several artworks for the auction scene, but Bazmee felt they were too perfect for Majnu Bhai’s comedic persona.
“I said, Majnu Bhai can’t paint such good artworks. Since I had time, I decided to try painting it myself,” he explained.
